Reflecting our commitment to partnering with TAFE NSW to improve energy efficiency across their portfolio, we recently installed a Fujitsu AIRSTAGE A Class energy-efficient water-cooled chiller at the Ultimo campus. We chose the low Global Warming Potential Hydrofluorocarbon (GWP) HFO refrigerant R513A, which reduces global warming potential by 56% compared to R134A. This project is one of hundreds completed by our Construction team this year as part of the TAFE NSW ARP 3.0 Statewide HVAC Replacements program. Our ARP 3.0 program spans 43 campuses, from Albury to Wollongbar and Walgett, and includes upgrades to cool rooms, BMS, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, split systems, fans, package units, and VAVs. “Working with Precise Air Group has enabled us to plan critical equipment replacements strategically, ensuring minimal disruption and continued support for our educational services. ” said Stephen Owen, Investment Program Manager ARP at TAFE Infrastructure NSW. “The collaboration has been instrumental in improving our overall asset performance and realizing energy savings whilst also making changes towards renewable resources.” For more information about this project or our construction capabilities, please contact Alex Hadigol.

A commitment to partnering with our customers is in our DNA. Collaborating with Abacus Group and Fujitsu General Australia has been a particularly rewarding experience. Together with the Abacus Group sustainability team, we’re applying our mechanical engineering expertise to create clear and achievable strategies to help reach their sustainability commitments. This video case study highlights the recent upgrades at The Oasis Broadbeach and 14 Martin Place in Sydney, using Fujitsu AIRSTAGE chillers. Success of these projects is down to the planning and project management of our Gold Coast and Sydney teams. Our full case study goes even further. By leveraging data analytics and IoT technologies, we’re able to continuously monitor, report on and improve building performance and the indoor air environment, and deliver data driven strategies. It is such a pleasure to work with like-minded organisations who share a passion for seeking out innovative solutions. A leading edge QA system means nothing if it’s not adopted on site by your construction project teams. At Precise Air Construction, Quality Assurance (QA) is essential. Not only does it ensure consistent, high-quality results, it provides a compliance and documentation framework that helps guide our teams and subcontractors to meet our clients’ project KPIs and commitments. Martin Hadigol, Precise Air’s Quality Assurance Manager – Construction, has been integral to making sure our externally accredited Quality Management System, originally developed by our National HSEQ team, is fit for purpose for Construction, continuously optimised, and accessible online so that our teams in the field have easy access. This includes developing a clear construction strategy, managing documents effectively, mapping processes, setting over 85 KPIs across all processes and personnel, and enhancing our reporting system. Martin has also provided comprehensive training for our team and subcontractors, covering various QA requirements and process management. Our QA system integrates various online platforms, including Nintex Promapp for process management and Procore for project management, a platform that improves communication, collaboration and compliance with our approved subcontractors. These tools enhance efficiency, reduce risks, and improve quality management. “Focusing on making the system user-friendly and practical has led […]

Reconciliation Week provides us all with an opportunity to promote reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. It’s a time to reflect on our shared history, acknowledge the injustices of the past, and commit to building a better, more inclusive future. As part of our ongoing commitment to reconciliation, we are sharing a short video showcasing the voices of our students reflecting on the PAAP (Precise Air Aboriginal Pathways program) that we ran last year with the teams from TAFE NSW and Aboriginal Employment Strategy ltd. Take a moment to watch the video and hear firsthand what the PAAP program meant to our students and how it is contributing to our journey towards reconciliation. It’s a powerful testament to the impact of education and community engagement in fostering understanding and respect. Let’s continue to learn, listen, and work together towards a future of harmony and understanding. Visit Reconciliation Australia to find out how you can get involved.

This weekend, we installed the latest AIRSTAGE chiller from Fujitsu General Australia at 14 Martin Place for Abacus Group. The skill shown by the riggers from SP Rigging and the Borger Cranes operator made the whole process look effortless. The operation required a team of riggers to remove the external louvre to the level 9 plant room and carefully manoeuvre the multi-ton unit into a narrow opening between high-rise buildings. Moving it into the plant room was like threading a needle. Safety was our top priority, so we meticulously planned every step and followed stringent safety precautions for this high-risk operation. Even with Sydney’s unpredictable weather, we were blessed with clear skies during the four-hour window for the crane lift. Overall, we’re really proud of how everyone came together to complete this complex installation with such precision and teamwork. Great work Navid Hamidi and Jerry Timor. Training is underway on the Fujitsu AIRSTAGE TurboCor chillers for Precise Air technicians in QLD and NSW. The first sessions were conducted by the Italian Factory chiller expert Roberto Tondo at The Oasis Broadbeach where a 600kw and 1600kw chiller are being installed. Replacing the original chillers that were reaching end of life, the new AIRSTAGE chillers use Danfoss TurboCor compressors and the HFO refrigerant R513a that has a Global Warming Potential of 573, which achieves a reduction of 56% compared to commonly used refrigerant R134a. Thank you to Fujitsu’s Kyle Rafter and Dave Smith, and to Paul Finney and the team at The Oasis Broadbeach for hosting the training sessions on site.

Precise Air Group’s leadership team applied their engineering skills to building prosthetic hands for people in developing countries who have lost limbs due to accidents or landmines. It took the teams under an hour to assemble these life-changing prosthetics from over 30 pieces of plastic and metal for the Helping Hands charity. Worldwide, over 300,000 people have lost limbs to landmines, 20% of these are children. The cost of traditional prosthetics in developing countries is around $3,000, so any contribution that our community can make through this ‘hands’ is welcomed. Helping Hands is just 5,000 prosthetics away from their goal to provide 30,000 hands by 2030. We were all very proud that we could make a profound difference in the lives of those halfway around the world and contribute to this goal. Thank you to the team at Bechallenged for providing us with the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful cause. This project serves as a reminder of the difference that engineering can have on society, and we’re proud to be part of a community that strives to use our skills to help achieve these great results.
