Last week we marked a significant achievement as we officially hand over the Snowy Hydro Climate Room to the Snowy Hydro team.
As Principal Contractor, we delivered the full design and construct, collaborating with a multidisciplinary design team—including architects, BCA consultants, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire engineers—while managing all trades.
Building a massive climate-controlled room, size 100mx70m, inside an existing warehouse in 3 months over the holiday season required meticulous planning, coordination, and approvals. A, seamless, well-planned approach and close collaboration with stakeholders made all the difference in delivering on time, with zero injuries.
Snowy 2.0 is a major expansion of the Snowy Scheme. It will provide on-demand power generation and largescale energy storage, increasing the generation capacity of the Snowy Scheme by almost 50%. The climate-controlled facility plays a critical role in preserving key hydroelectric turbine components until the site is ready to receive them. To maintain the integrity of this equipment, the temperature-controlled room was designed to maintain a temperature and humidity of +5 and +25 degrees Centigrade and less than 50% relative humidity.
Together, we are helping Snowy 2.0 stay powered for the future.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this project a success!
