Safety planning vital for quick helicopter lift

Thanks to meticulous planning and collaboration between TAFE NSW, JLL and the Precise Air teams, the helicopter lift of 15 air conditioning units at TAFE NSW Wyong was completed in just 20 minutes and 56 seconds from engine start to landing – a fraction of the time of a conventional crane lift.

Safety and efficiency were our top priorities for the installation at Wyong. The day began with the landing of the helicopter at 7:30 AM and introduction of the crew to the team. Our Project Manager, Sergio Tovar, conducted the toolbox talk to ensure everyone understood the safety protocols in place and each individual’s role in the operation. Clearly marked exclusion zones prevented unauthorised access.

This installation at the TAFE NSW Wyong Campus is just the latest milestone in our ongoing program of HVAC and fire upgrades for TAFE NSW. Our Precise Air and Precise Fire teams are delivering these essential upgrades to over 70 sites throughout the state.
