Precise Air is proud to be a Supporting Partner of Bond University’s Indigenous Education Programme, helping to provide valuable educational opportunities to a growing number of Indigenous students.
Bond University is Australia’s first private, non-profit university and is strongly committed to helping bridge the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous higher education enrolments and outcomes.
The Programme is supported by corporate sponsorships, fundraising initiatives, philanthropic endowments and the University’s own contribution. It encompasses a wide range of initiatives including full scholarships, support provided through the on-campus Nyombil Indigenous Support Centre, mentoring and career development programmes, school outreach programmes and cultural awareness activities.
Since its inception in 2012, the Programme has invested over $4.18 million, awarded scholarships, and increased Indigenous student enrolments by 79% to 59 students.
As a result of its financial and non-financial support, Bond University’s retention rate for Indigenous students is an outstanding 95%, well over the Australian average of 71%, with 43 indigenous graduates since 2012.
As a Supporting Partner, Precise Air has helped the University’s scholarship fund award 14 full scholarships this year.
“We are proud to partner with Precise Air, an organisation who shares our vision of true reconciliation,” said Bond University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor, Pathways and Partnerships, Catherine O’Sullivan.
“Your support of Bond University’s students will not only equip them to be proud Indigenous leaders; it will inspire family, friends and community members to follow in their footsteps,” she said.
Kane Adams, Precise Air’s Account Manager for Bond University, said that “Bond University is inspiring in its commitment to providing top quality educational opportunities for Indigenous students.”
“We have been supporters of the Bond University Indigenous Gala in the past,” continued Kane. “The Gala is a fantastic fund raising initiative, raising over $1m since it began that goes directly to Indigenous Education Programme initiatives. The University approached us last year to become more involved, so we decided to step up our support in 2015 in a more meaningful way, adding the Supporting Partners Programme to our ongoing commitment to the Gala.”
Precise Air is looking forward to increasing its involvement in the Programme and the opportunity of providing not only financial support, but valuable work experience to help students in their transition to work.
“We have a number of Indigenous employees and understand the importance education and support plays in establishing a foothold in the work environment,” said Precise Air’s Managing Director, Nadeem Tayar. “Providing this additional support is just one way we can all contribute to helping the next generation achieve their goals.”
