Precise Air Group’s leadership team applied their engineering skills to building prosthetic hands for people in developing countries who have lost limbs due to accidents or landmines. It took the teams under an hour to assemble these life-changing prosthetics from over 30 pieces of plastic and metal for the Helping Hands charity.
Worldwide, over 300,000 people have lost limbs to landmines, 20% of these are children. The cost of traditional prosthetics in developing countries is around $3,000, so any contribution that our community can make through this ‘hands’ is welcomed.
Helping Hands is just 5,000 prosthetics away from their goal to provide 30,000 hands by 2030. We were all very proud that we could make a profound difference in the lives of those halfway around the world and contribute to this goal.
Thank you to the team at Bechallenged for providing us with the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful cause.
This project serves as a reminder of the difference that engineering can have on society, and we’re proud to be part of a community that strives to use our skills to help achieve these great results.
