We’re excited to announce that Precise Fire is a finalist in the Fire Protection Association Australia (FPA Australia) Awards – Fire Protection Project of the Year!
Between December 2022 and August 2023, Precise Fire completed the TAFE NSW Asset Replacement Program 2.0 | State-Wide Fire System Replacement.
The Precise Fire team successfully delivered essential Fire Detection System upgrades of 108 FDCIEs and over 13,000 detectors to 18 TAFE NSW campuses across the state from Murwillumbah to Moss Vale, out to Coonabarabran.
This intensive project highlighted the value of collaboration between fire companies, client, subcontractors, and suppliers, while providing local employment and enhancing safety for the community.
Overcoming challenges from a tight 8-month deadline and COVID-19 supply chain disruptions, the team prioritised flexible scheduling and communication. Coordination with regional subcontractors was pivotal for meeting timelines. Strategic partnerships with FireSense overcame impacts of COVID-19 on availability of fire panel components.
To optimise ongoing operations, especially in regional and remote locations, the team opted for FireSense 30/30 panels, leveraging cloud capabilities for enhanced accessibility and efficiency. Online documentation facilitated compliance, providing manuals for each fire detection system component.
“Partnering with Precise Fire on this program has delivered a quality outcome for TAFE NSW,” said Stephen Owen, Investment Program Manager ARP, TAFE Infrastructure. “This collaboration has seen important upgrades to fire safety equipment completed whilst avoiding disruption to learning spaces, enhancing fire safety for students and putting the customer first.”
Due to success, we’ve created the innovative Precise Air Aboriginal Pathways education and employment program with TAFE NSW, and commenced phase 2 involving replacements at an additional 17 campuses across the State, with an estimated 110 fire panels and 14,500 detectors.

We’re excited to announce that our PAAP program has won the TAFE NSW Gili Industry Partnership Award! The Precise Air Aboriginal Pathways (PAAP) program is in it’s 3rd year and is a fantastic collaboration between Precise Air, TAFE NSW and NSW Police, providing educational and employment opportunities in the HVAC industry. It’s help us raise the overall participation rate of First Nations employees in Precise to almost 4%, and represents 19% of our apprentice cohort. Certainly something for us to celebrate in Reconciliation Week! Gili (pronounced ‘kill-ee’) is an Eora word meaning ‘to shine’. The Gili Awards celebrate the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and TAFE NSW employees, as well as innovative programs that aim to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. Special thanks to the Precise Air team, TAFE NSW’s Sharon Taylor, Emma McDonald and Gary Jarret, and NSW Police Superintendent Scott Tanner APM.
